Hunt Story

On the morning of November 10, me and my dad got in our stand at 6:25 a.m. After sitting there for about 50 minutes, we noticed a spike on the other side of the creek. A doe came out of the thicket on the side of the creek we were on. The spike came running across the creek toward the doe. Right before he reached the doe, he locked up and made a swift 180-degree turn and ran back across the creek. My dad noticed a big body deer coming out of the thicket. He instantly noticed it was a mature buck. I heard my dad start saying get on the gun. The buck crossed the creek and made his way into an opening where I could get a shot. As soon as I felt comfortable with the shot, I squeezed the trigger. We heard the deer crash thru the creek and fall on the other side. After we waited for what seemed like forever, we got down and recovered the deer. This is a hunt me and my dad will always remember.
