Hunt Story
The deer had slipped in on me through a thick edge my stand was placed on. I first heard him walking, and then heard what sounded like him making a rub. When the noise stopped a caught movement under the stand. I think he saw me look down he began to run. I made a light bleat noise with my mouth. He stopped at about 60 yards. I had already braced on the stand and was ready for the shot when it presented itself. It was a quartering away shot. When I pulled the trigger, he didn't act like I hit him. He started to walk away from me. I stood up to try and get another shot, got steadied and ready to take the shot when he fell. I waited about hour and half before climbing down. I met my dad, and even though we saw the deer he asked me to retrace my steps and show me where he was standing. I was very excited. Dad let me drag it out as far as I could.
