Hunt Story
I had been getting pictures of this deer since August, and his activity was really picking up as of this past week. Especially with daytime visits to the food plot. I had just settled into my stand shortly after 5 p.m., and he walked right into the middle of the narrow lane of my food plot at around 120 yards. When I saw his dark antlers and body size, I went right to preparing for the shot. Not knowing exactly which buck this was, only that it was a big mature deer, I squeezed off the shot. After the smoke cleared, the lane was empty. I found sign that indicated a good lung hit and the trail eventually led to the buck after about 100 yards. I was very happy to see that it was indeed the 10-point that I was hoping for!
