Hunt Story
My parents and I had been working at our church most of the day. My dad knew that I wanted to go to my grand-parents house to go hunting. It started to get late, so my dad told my mom that he would stay at church and finish cleaning up and she could take me hunting. I wanted to go to my grand-parents house because my grandfather had been seeing several does each evening and had seen a pretty decent buck a couple of days before. Well we were a little late getting out there it was about 5:10 that afternoon and when we got to my grandparents house two does were already out in the pasture. My mom told me that she was going to sit in the car and watch me while I walked to the edge of the yard to sit behind a popular tree. She said to me, "now this is your last tag this season, don't waist it on just any old junk." Well, within the next 15 minutes there was 13 does out in the field. I had decided at this point that this was going to be a day to see does and nothing else. I looked away for just a second and then looked back up and I saw something coming down across the field and all I could think was, "somebody is playing a trick on me." All I could see was horns!! He was coming down the field running around through the does. I couldn't get a shot at first because he was moving around so much. The big buck finally stopped and I took a shot and I missed. He didn't move so I reloaded and the next shot took him down!! I could see him fall. I knew I got him. My dad arrived just after I shot and we went over to where he fell. We were all shocked to see such a buck!!
