Hunt Story
I was climbing up in stand when I saw the deer cross about 75 yards in front of me. I stopped him with my mouth by making a grunt sound at him. He stopped with his head in some bushes, but I could see from the shoulder back on the deer. Knowing I had seen a good amount of antler at 75 yards, I took the shot before I could even sit in my chair. I gave him about 10 minutes before I went to the impact spot. I saw bright red blood so I knew I had put a good shot on him. I went to get my dog, who I am training to track deer, so she would be able to get on her first real track since I knew it would be an easy one. About an hour later we made it back to stand, she got on his trail no problem where we found him lying about 60 yards in the pines.
