Hunt Story
After using a mock scrape to pattern this deer, I took the weekend off from hunting to prevent any further pressure. I decided to hunt the afternoon of the 9th with the way the weather had been. I was excited the rain was holding off. I arrived at my spot around 3 p.m. and made my way to my stand shortly after. While headed to my stand, I noticed movement toward my mock scrape, turns out it was my target buck. He presented himself with a 40 yard shot as we stared one another down on the ground, somehow by the grace of God, I made an accurate shot shaking like a leaf and he expired shortly afterwards.
