Hunt Story

We snuck in before daylight and sat next to a big red oak in a travel corridor. Then around 7:30 Jackson spotted a deer moving our direction. After pointing the deer out to me, we realized it was a buck but we had no idea how big. As the buck closed the distance between us we realized it was a shooter. Jackson did a great job getting his gun up as the buck got within 30 yards while we were sitting on the ground. The buck stopped in a small opening only 20 yards from us and was about to run when Jackson found an opening. His .308 fired and the buck dropped dead in his tracks. After the buck was down we realized what Jackson had done. He'd just killed "Lucky", an old buck that had earned his nickname the year before by getting away from us twice. We have countless pictures of this buck and both sheds from last year. Unbelievable hunt!!!!!!
