I had seen this deer on camera several times in daylight. Opening evening had been pretty slow. A little while before dark I saw this deer and another shooter walk out of a hardwood bottom about 300 yards away. Both bucks walked a tree line coming within about 120 yards where the buck gave me a shot. I tracked him for about 75 yards where I lost blood. A friend brought his dog to help look for the deer. The dog found the deer about 50 yards from where the blood ended. I thank God for such a good opening day and for my friend’s dog.
