WMA Youth Turkey Quota Hunt Deadline Is February 15

GON Staff | February 1, 2022

February 15 will be the last day parents can apply their child for a WMA turkey quota hunt. This year there are 22 different hunt choices to choose at www.GoHuntGeorgia.com. Some of these areas offer high-quality hunts with a good population of turkeys. Flip over to page 48 to see the options you’ve got

Don’t let another year slip on by. Kids don’t stay young forever, and once they turn 16 years old, they can’t participate in WMA youth hunts anymore.

Tate Martin was 8 years old when he rolled this gobbler on Crockford Pigeon Mountain in 2020. Crockford Pigeon, like many WMAs, don’t offer youth-only quota turkey hunts but still provide places to take a kid. It obviously paid off for Tate!

Killing two birds on the same day or from the same public-land area won’t be legal this season, but it sure was in 2020 when Corbin Scarborough, 10, of Walton County, connected on these two WMA turkeys. It was Corbin’s first two turkeys, and he killed them on Clybel WMA’s youth quota hunt on March 31, 2020. This season Clybel will be offering two youth quota hunts.
