Hunt Story
We got in the stand late due to me having a dentist appointment. Blair was eager to go as I had seen this deer just two days prior. We had hunted the evening before without any luck. Within 10 minutes of getting settled in the stand, a spike came out and began to feed in the plot. At about 5:35 a doe stepped out into the road leading to the stand behind us. I kept an eye out the back opening while Blair watched the spike on the plot. I soon saw movement through the woods behind the doe and noted that is was a buck, although not yet sure how big. The doe ran off and the buck trailed her for about 20 yards before turning to come into the food plot. As he approached I noted that he was the one I had seen 2 days prior and a shooter for Blair. She found him in her scope out the side window. I told her to be patient and she waited until he got to the food plot and begin to feed. She put a perfect shot on him and he sat down right where he stood. Blair was excited and this father was beyond excited. Blair has now tagged her two bucks for the year. She has had a remarkable hunting season that she will never forget!
