Hunt Story

My dad and brother hunted this same spot earlier in the morning but only saw a couple of does. It was my turn so we hunted it in the afternoon. We have had pictures of nothing but does all summer long and only started getting pictures of bucks in the past week. I decided I wasn’t going to shoot a doe because I wanted one of those bucks for the wall. We had been watching a doe and fawn for a while when they blew and took off out of the food plot. Daddy thought that somehow we spooked them but we soon found out what did. I heard something walking behind us and looked to see a buck coming in. He was really nervous and took off running. We thought our hunt was over when we realized he had turned and was running back to us. Daddy made a grunt and the buck stopped long enough for me to shoot. When I said I had the scope on him daddy took off the safety. I was aiming for his shoulder and pulled the trigger. The deer went down right where he stood. It was a good day.
