Hunt Story
My wife (Jennifer) had been hunting this deer HARD since opening weekend of rifle season. Committing time to mornings before work and leaving her banker job early trying to get sit time before dark to have a chance to kill this buck. Everyone with land surrounding ours had him on camera and was also hunting him. Day after Christmas, Jennifer decided to skip hunting and go to the nail salon and allowed me to hunt her stand. I had been in the stand maybe 15 minutes when a doe jumped the neighbor's fence and entered the field, and right behind her was this monster buck. Knowing I couldn’t let him get away, I took the shot. He tried to get away but I got in two more shots before he disappeared. I called my three sons to come help me find him before it got dark. We walked across the field and he made it to the fence and that’s where his journey ended. My wife was livid, but she’ll get to see him every day now once he gets back from the taxidermist.
