Bartletts Ferry Fishing Report April 2015

GON Staff | March 25, 2015

Bartletts Ferry: Level: 0.6 feet below full pool. Temp: 60 degrees. Clarity: The main lake is clear; creeks have some stain.

Bass: Tournament director Dennis Hudson reports, “You can start looking for bedding fish. They’ll be in most of the pockets on the lake. Everybody will be sight fishing with Trick Worms and Senkos in the junebug color, or if the water has color, green pumpkin is best. Before the bass get hard on the bed, buzzbaits, jerkbaits and jigs fished in the mouths of pockets will catch fish.”

Crappie:
“The crappie have moved up quickly,” Dennis said. “They are on the banks kind of limbo right now. It was too cold for them to spawn on the full moon in March, so they’ll go in April. They are about to bust wide open. They’ll be moving off the beds early in April. That’s when they get around the dock lights, and they’ll start hitting jigs and live minnows.”
