Hunt Story
This buck came into the food plot of Big N Beasty brassica following a doe. We had passed the deer up at 3.5 when he was a nice 9-pointer, and at 4.5 he broke his entire right side off late in the archery season, thereby getting a free pass again. At 5.5, he went totally nocturnal until November 24th when he followed a small doe into the food plot. It was my 8th day in a row hunting him in the food plot, as it was the one place we got regular night-time pictures of the deer. I feel so blessed to be able to take a deer of this caliber. He gross scored around 156.5 inches and will forever be a constant reminder of the fact that you have to let them walk for them to get big! Additionally, this was an awesome day as my grandson took his first buck that morning, a nice Meriwether 8-pointer!
