Bartletts Ferry Fishing Report January 2015

GON Staff | December 23, 2014

Bartletts Ferry: Level: 0.9 feet below full pool. Temp: 50 degrees. Clarity. Clear.

Bass:
Tournament angler and trail director Dennis Hudson says the bass were scattered leading into January, but they are now starting to settle down as they get in that typical dominant January pattern. “In January, you look for those nice cold days when you get a north wind blowing into the piers and seawalls,” he said. “That cold north wind piles the bait and bass up good on the docks and seawalls. Chrome Rat-L-Traps fished around the docks work well, and ChatterBaits will get them off the seawalls. The key to that is having good water color, and we don’t have that right now. You can see about 4 feet down right now. We need some rain bad.”
