Hunt Story
We got in the two man ladder stand that we call the "Buckeye Stand" around 5:45 on Monday the 14th. We didn't see anything until this deer came off a thick pine top above us around 7:15. The buck came to a red oak tree that was loaded with acorns and started feeding around the tree, 25 yards away. My son got his Ruger .308 in position, resting on the shooting rail of the two man stand and shot the deer in the left shoulder, slightly quartering to us. The deer dropped in his tracks and my son screamed out with excitement, hugged and high fived me! This was his 5th buck of his life and I am very thankful for him and the time we get to spend in the woods together!
