You never quite know what you’ll see or experience when you set off into the wilds of the Georgia woods—that’s one of the draws that brings a hunter back.
John Hicks certainly didn’t expect to see a buck on his way to his stand Dec. 9 in Ben Hill County. John stepped behind a tree to take a closer look through his scope. To John’s surprise, the deer had his head down. John shot the standing deer and then was shocked to find two 10-pointers locked together. The one that had been on the ground was already dead and a predator had eaten part of his rump—with the live buck attached by locked antlers.
