Lake Tobesofkee Fishing Report December 2012

GON Staff | November 28, 2012

Tobesofkee: Tournament angler Clayton Batts reports, “The lake will be lowered on Dec. 6, 2012 for dock repairs. December will be the best month of the year to fish Tobesofkee. It’s time to break out the crankbaits, spinnerbaits, Rat-L-Traps and jigs and cover water. Fish the steeper banks on the main lake with a Spro Little John crankbait in spring craw or green pumpkin. Fish a black-and-blue Picasso jig with a green-pumpkin Big Bite Baits chunk or a Texas rig with a Big Bite Baits Fighting Frog and a 3/8-oz. tungsten weight in these same areas where a dock post or any other brush is still in the water. The rip-rap around the bridges will also hold fish, and they can be caught on a Stanford Lures Razor Shad in summer shad. The other pattern that works very well is throwing a chrome/blue Spro Aruku Shad or a chartreuse/white Picasso spinnerbait on flats in the pockets. The two main keys to catching them with the lake being down is covering a lot of water and finding the bait with your Lowrance or with your eyes when they are on the surface.”
