Lake Tobesofkee Fishing Report November 2012

Tobesofkee: Tournament angler Clayton Batts reports, “The fish are all spread out, which has made fishing difficult for the past few weeks. Look for the bite to get better as November rolls along and becomes incredible in December when the lake is drawn down. Fish a white Picasso spinnerbait or Spro Little John in shad colors around pockets where bait is present. Also, throw a Spro Aruku Shad in shad colors in the middle of pockets, and yo-yo it back to the boat. This is a great way to find little wolf packs of bass that hang out in the drains in the pockets. Once you locate fish in a pocket, slow down. I like to fish a Big Bite Baits Shaking Squirrel in green pumpkin on a 1/8-oz. shaky head or a Spro K-Finesse jig in black/blue around docks and any other available cover in the pocket. At the end of November or first of December, they will drop the lake down so that homeowners can make repairs to their docks and seawalls. Tobesofkee produces better catches than almost any other lake in the state when it is down. When the lake is down, it’s time to power fish with jigs, spinnerbaits, Rat-L-Traps and crankbaits. Just put the trolling motor down, and keep it on high until you find a school of fish.”
