Hunt Story
The stand I was sitting in had been up for about 2 weeks (15-foot one person ladder) on a hardwood ridge overlooking a swampy bottom. I had been in the stand since 3:45 and had not seen anything but squirrels. I looked up and there he was at about 25 yards, all I could see was his gray face and some antler. I watched him feed for about 20 minutes before I stood up and drew my bow. I had my pin set at 20 yards and he was at 13 yards the shot was high and I hit him in the spine. I got down and put another arrow in him which was a double lung and heart shot. Two seasons ago I decided to start bowhunting, put the gun away and decided if I killed a deer it would be with a bow or I wasn't going to kill one, and thanks to the Muzzy Hybrid and Mathews Avail (60 lbs) I finally got my first bow kill!
