Hunt Story
Around 4:30 p.m. to 4:45, a button head buck came out into the field. I watched him for about 10 minutes, and he was constantly looking back into the woods. Right around 5 p.m. a big doe ran into the field and saw the button buck and began running at him. Shortly behind her the 10-point buck came chasing. I did a grunt fairly loud, and he slowly came to a stop and looked my way, and I took my first shot. He ran maybe 5 yards and stopped. I watched him standing there in the scope for a few seconds before I started scrambling for the reloads. I got the reloads, quickly dumped the powder and the bullet, packed it in, and then put on a new cap. Buck still has not moved. He is facing away from me until he finally takes his first steps and gives me another broadside shot. I quickly set up and pull the trigger. He runs 30-40 yards and falls in sight. When I got down and got to the deer, I found out I shot him both times.
