Hunt Story
I got to my stand on top of an oak ridge a little late that morning. It was light enough that I didn't need a flashlight to find my way to the stand. After climbing into the ladder stand, I let everything settle down for about half an hour and then I used my Primos "can" a few times and waited to see if anything would respond, but nothing did. About 45 minutes later I used the "can" again doing the same sequence. A few minutes after that, I started to hear a deer grunting down the hill below me. I couldn't see anything in that direction, so I just waited and kept looking around me. Then suddenly he appeared to my right with a small buck following him. The small buck must have seen me turn my head to look cause he jumped a few steps which caused the 10-pointer to come closer to me, but now he was on alert and looking my direction. After standing for several minutes looking my way, he finally started walking around to my left and gave me a perfect broadside shot at about 30 yards. My Webley & Scott 308 did its job, and I found the buck down the hill from me.
