Hunt Story

I watched this buck for 30 minutes stand downwind of a food plot where I could only see from his ears up. He ran off a smaller buck and eventually stepped out into the food plot, and I connected on a 250 yard shot to the front shoulder at 5:35 pm. I could hear hogs and coyotes in the woods where the deer ran, so I called my father and he came right away, and within 20 minutes of the shot we were beginning to track the deer. After finding only a small amount of blood at the edge of the woods, we heard a coyote howl very close to us and figured he had found the deer before we could get there. We both began to make noise to scare the coyote off, and within 10 minutes we had found the deer, which had only ran about 25 yards into the woods. When we got the deer back to the edge of the field, my father noticed that coyotes had already begun to eat on the deer's hind quarter less than 30 minutes after being shot. I am very thankful for the good Lord blessing me with this opportunity, and the opportunity to share in finding the buck with my father. My 5-year-old little man Hunter wanted a pic with daddy's deer also!
