Hunt Story
It was one of those mornings I just couldn't get going. Finally around 7, I made myself get out of bed. I got into my blind around 7:30, and it wasn't long before a couple of younger bucks came through chasing does. I watched several deer pass with none being the one I had been after for the past three years. Around 9, I decided to try some rattling. Right away a nice 6-point came running in. After I watched him for several minutes, I heard some deer running toward me from my right. As I looked into the swamp bottom I noticed a couple of smaller bucks running toward me, and then I got sight of a larger buck headed through the swamp. I quickly grabbed my rifle and found an opening I could take him in. As he walked into the opening I took my shot and he dropped. I couldn't believe I had just killed the buck I had been hunting for the past three years.
