Hunt Story
During the second week of bow season, I fell climbing a tree and broke my 8th vertebrate and fractured my 11th and 12th. I was very fortunate that I was not paralyzed as the ER doctor told me I should have been. The doctor cleared me to be able to walk and get out in the woods the week after Thanksgiving. It was a cold morning right before all the snow came in. I had not seen any deer the first three hours into the hunt. At 10:30 a.m., a doe came busting out of the pine thicket being chased by a buck. He ran her up and down the ridge until I finally got him to stop and could make a shot. The buck only made it 10 yards. Thankful the good Lord was watching over me and allowed me to get back into the great outdoors.
