Hunt Story
I knew of this buck for three years. In 2015, I got permission to run tons of cameras to try and find this deer's home range with very little luck. At the time I was hunting a buck I named Charlie that had most of my attention and did not hunt this buck. In 2016, I was back at it getting permission to try and locate this deer's core area. I quickly learned this deer had a massive home range as I started to get pics late in the season in 2016. I hunted him a month straight in January but to no avail. He was very sporadic on where he would show up and was all over the place. Fast forward to 2017 and all my attention was on him. I pieced together what little info I had on him and was able to learn more about this buck. I located his summer bedroom, but he quickly broke away from it as soon as the season rolled around. He was nocturnal and again was traveling close to 2 square miles. Thirty sits in 2017, and we finally crossed paths in the heat of the rut a little over a mile from his summer hideout. There were multiple people hunting this deer and I'm beyond thankful that I was the one to take him. Prayers answered.
