Hunt Story

I was in a stand in some in a creek bottom in some hardwoods that were still dropping acorns. At 9:15, I caught a glimpse of movement to my left and behind me. I saw that it was a buck about 15 yards away, and he stepped behind a large tree which gave me a chance to draw. As he stepped out from behind that, I shot him at full broadside. He jumped into the creek, leaped up a 5-foot bank, then ran about 30 yards and fell. After about a 45-minute wait, I tracked him to where he was laying.
