Hunt Story
Every year Jack says that he is going to wait on a big buck. This year while looking over hundreds of trail-cam pics, Jack got a look at the first good buck we got on camera and said, "That's the one I want." We didn't see that buck again on camera for three weeks. On our last hunt, a good buck stepped out and began to cross the swamp behind us. I grunted with my mouth to stop him, but he stopped behind some brush, and Jack did not have a clear shot. When he began to walk again, and I stopped him one more time. This time he was in the clear, and Jack made a great 45-yard shot. The buck took three steps and dropped. It wasn't until we got to it that we realized that it was the buck from the trail-cam pic. Some time during the three-week period that the buck disappeared, he was shot. There was an infected entrance and exit wound through his neck. The buck was not affected at all from the wound.
