Hunt Story
It was cold Monday morning, and I knew it was gonna be good because I knew it was the start of the rut where I hunt. A buck came in to my Golden Estrus I had hanging early in the morning before I could see him well enough to tell if he was a shooter or not. Then about 8 o'clock and young 8-pointer came out grunting and chasing a little spike buck. Later on a young doe came in and walked under my stand and stayed there for about 20 minutes. I was watching her when I herd more deer coming I could tell it was a big buck chasing a doe. They came over the hill, and the buck stopped to the right of me about 85 yards out. Had to wait for him to move because I could see his body and could tell he was mature, but I couldn't see his horns. When he turned to go back, I got a look at his horns, and then I knew he was a shooter. Shot him right behind the shoulder. He ran 80 yards and piled up. Good thick-horned Hall County buck.
