Hunt Story
This was only my second encounter with him on hoof in three years, but I have many, many, pictures of him, normally at night. It was a nice evening, so I rattled some horns. Within 20 minutes, he was standing at the edge of the tree line, nose up in the air. I got to enjoy about 3-4 minutes of him eating and scanning the area....then it happened!!! He turned broadside toward me and FINALLY presented me with a clean shot. After the shot, I listened for him to crash and he did, just 40-50 yards away. I spent the next few minutes sitting in my stand, shaking uncontrollably and thanking the Lord above. There is no better feeling than harvesting a buck that has eluded you for years. 216 pounds of Georgia Giant!!
