Hunt Story
it was a cool morning, mid 30s with frost covering the ground, on Sunday, Oct. 23. A spike entered the area at around 7:45 followed closely by big-bodied 7-pointer. They swung around to my right, which is perfect as I am left handed. I began to raise my Marlin .35, about halfway to my face the deer's ears perked up followed by his head snapping my direction. I eased the scope to my face. When I saw the deer in my crosshairs, I squeezed the trigger then BOOM! I saw the deer do a mule kick, then he disappeared. I waited about 30 minutes, and then my uncle and I looked for blood. After about 5 minutes of looking we went back to the cabin for our Labrador, Ranger. We let Ranger loose for about 5 minutes and he had the deer found. A great opening weekend for my uncle and me!
