Hunt Story

It was Friday the 9/17/2016. I got off work at 5 p.m. and rushed home and got in the stand around 6:15 p.m.T he woods were quiet. I was starting to lose light and had only seen a few squirrels. And out of nowhere I caught movement of a deer about 50 yards away. It was going to cross in front of me. I grabbed my bow and clicked my release on. I could tell it was a buck but not sure how big. He walked out into an opening about 30 yards away, and I drew back and took aim and released the arrow. I could tell that I hit him and he took off running. I waited for about 10 minutes before i got down. I texted a buddy of mine and told him I had shot one and may need help tracking it. I waited on him to get there. After about 45 minutes to an hour after i shot him, me and my buddy headed to my stand where I showed him where the deer was standing. We found blood, and it was a good bit of it, so we started tracking. We tracked about 150 yards where we found him laying dead, and it was a 9-pointer. He field-dressed at 140 pounds.
