Hunt Story
We have seen this buck on camera for the last two seasons; however, we have only seen him once in person but it was too late to shoot. I took my son, Michael, with me that night, and as soon as we got up in the stand, there was a spike starring at us. He finally ran off. I asked my son if he forgot something and his response was, "I forgot to pray." So he did. Then about 5:15 a small one-horned spike came out, followed by a 6-pointer. We looked down at the food plot and here came another small buck, with one-inch horns. Then at the edge of the woods we saw this buck along with a doe. I gave the gun to my son and he shot; however, he completely missed. He reloaded the gun and shot again, this time his hind legs went up and he ran into the woods. I text my husband, and he came along with a friend of ours. I told my son he better pray we find blood, just as he said amen, our friend, Todd said, "found blood." We followed the trail and soon found the awesome deer! It was a great hunting experience!
