Bartletts Ferry Fishing Report January 2016

GON Staff | December 22, 2015

Bartletts Ferry: Level: 0.3 feet below full pool. Temp: 63 degrees. Clarity: Light stain.

Bass: “Everyone is still catching bass throwing crankbaits around the river points near Halawakee Creek,” said tournament promoter Dennis Hudson. “The water temperature is still high enough that the bass haven’t really had to go really deep yet. Medium-running square-bill crankbaits that run 4 to 8 feet are still taking most of the bass. In January, we should finally get some cold weather that will push the bass under the deeper docks. Then you can skip jigs and throw Senkos. If it’s sunny on those cold days, the bass will be shallow in the backs of pockets. You just have to figure out which pattern they want that day.”
