Hunt Story

I was late getting to my stand because I couldn't decide where I wanted to hunt a buck that I had been hunting all week or hunt somewhere else. I decided to give the one place a break and hunt a place I found in the spring. I had a homemade ladder stand already set up. I got to my stand about 4 o'clock, it is about 2 mile walk in, out an old logging road. At around 10 minutes after 5 pm, two does ran into the field being chased by this nice 8-point. He ran them in a circle and stopped broadside on top of the hill. I had to shoot between 2 trees. When I shot, I lost sight of which deer was which. I thought he went straight to the left. I looked for sign of a hit and found nothing. I walked around the backside of the hill and found the blood trail. He went about 75 yards. I made a great double lung shot. The shot was about 150 yards.
