Hunt Story
I chose to hunt this stand at the last minute because I decided to change where I was going to hunt. This area is a well known bedding spot for deer, and to my advantage no one has yet hunted this spot this year. About a quarter to six I noticed antlers coming out of some privet growing in the area. I saw that it was an 8-point, and made my mind up to take this deer. I waited for him to come out into the pine row I was watching from a stand. When he came out into the open, he turned broadside and looked my way. I aimed behind his shoulder and shot. I was fortunately able to see where he fell, so no tracking was required. I found the deer and began to drag him out. When I got the deer to the edge of the woods, I called my dad to come help me load it up.
