Hunt Story

I found a good run line the morning before and hunted that afternoon in a climber. I left my stand in and hunted the next morning. I got in after sunlight and was real cold. I grunted and did a buck bawl once or twice. I was so cold I put my head in my jacket like a turtle in a shell. I had just texted my wife. With all the newbies on my head, I never heard him, but when I poked my head out he was about 60 yards away behind some trees. And I couldn't see his rack, but we needed the meat. He stepped out and I saw his head, and I'm pretty sure he could hear my heart pounding in my chest. I'm a former Marine so I was able to control my breathing and make a clean shot. He hit the ground and didn't kick once. It was a great day.
