Hunt Story
My dad and I got in the deer stand before daylight. About 15 minutes after sunrise we saw a spike and button buck push each other around in our food plot that I helped plant. Dad rattled and grunted a couple of times about 8:00, and 15 minutes later I saw a buck to my left in the clearcut. I tried to get a shot, but I couldn't get the deer in my scope. The buck disappeared. Dad grunted again, and the buck walked in the food plot. I waited for him to stop, and I put the crosshairs on the crease on his shoulder and pulled the trigger. He ran out of the food plot, and I thought I saw him fall down. I just knew I made a good shot. While we were waiting to go look for my buck, we saw a 4-point chase four does in the clear cut. After about an hour we went to look for my buck. I found only one small drip of blood where I shot him. We walked the way I saw him run off, and I found him about 50 yards from where I shot him. I was so excited, it was a 9-pointer. This was my biggest buck ever. On our way back to the truck a nice 8-pointer ran in front of us and stopped in the edge of the woods and Dad shot it. We doubled! It was the best day ever.
