Hunt Story
Got in the stand late, 5:00, Saturday afternoon. Settled in, and within 20 minutes there were two small bucks and two does at the far end of the field feeding. They were making their way to me when three other does came in on my side of the field. When I looked back to check on the other group of deer, I noticed a large deer making its way into the field. I watched this deer for 15 minutes trying to decide if he was a shooter. He made his way into the field and behind the brushpiles within the field. Wanting to get a better look at him, I used my grunt call twice to try to turn him back to me. I waited a few minutes, and he appeared from behind the brushpiles and headed toward the does that had come out on my side of the field. I looked though my binoculars at him at 100 yards and decided to take him. After getting my gun into position, one of the does closest to me starting blowing. The buck froze broadside at 100 yards. I released the safety and squeezed the trigger. The buck dropped!
