Hunt Story

We slept in but thought we would try hunting anyway. I was seated on the ground at the base of a tree. There is a powerline that runs up the side of the mountain to our cabin. The mountain is wooded. I was at the bottom of the powerline. I was barely settled in my spot when I saw legs moving to the left of the powerline. It was only my second deer ever, so my adrenaline was NOT well controlled. He stopped before entering the clearing and then moved on across. He was moving slow enough that I felt good about taking the shot. After the shot, I couldn't see the deer. There was no movement or sound, so I stayed in my spot and texted my husband who was hunting the property with me. We followed the blood trail and my husband saw him. He went about 100 yards.
