Hunt Story
I got on the stand at the corner of our farm at 4:20 p.m. It was hot and muggy and I almost didn't go. About 5 p.m., I looked to my right and four does were crossing the cotton field in front of my stand. I let them walk and kept waiting. About 5 minutes later, a young 6-point appeared from the same way. I thought he was too small and let him walk. About 6 p.m., I looked about 150 yards in front of me and saw a deer making a scrape. I let him walk away for about another 50 yards and when he turned to the left to enter the woods I shot him he was a non-typical 15-point and weighed 230 pounds. I shot him at 178 yards.
