Hunt Story

After walking into my stand location with my dad at daylight, I climbed a red oak on the edge of a food plot with thick hardwoods to my back. My dad left to go to his stand after I had settled in for the morning hunt. Approximately 10 minutes later, I heard a loud grunt to my right coming from a hardwood creek bottom. I waited with much anticipation hoping the buck would show himself. I closed my eyes hoping to see a buck emerge. I opened my eyes and I did see anything in food plot. Something caught my eye to the right after I saw slight movement. I slowly turning my head and saw the big buck staring at me. My heart accelerated and I waited for the buck to turn his head before raising my gun. I only had a neck shot, so I steadied my rife on the buck's neck and squeezed the trigger. My dad beat me to the deer as he had not even had time to get to his stand. A deer and memory that will last me the rest of my life.
