Clarks Hill Fishing Report October 2015

Clarks Hill: Level: 5.1 feet below full pool. Temp: 73-75 degrees. Clarity: Clear in the main lake areas and stained to muddy in the creeks.

Bass: Tournament angler Kerry Partain reports, “The bass fishing is good with water temperatures dropping and the baitfish migrating back into the creeks. You can catch some bigger fish early on a Zoom Horny Toad and a buzzbait. The schooling activity is really picking up, and you can catch them on points and humps in 20 feet on a Super Fluke and topwater. If the schooling fish slow down, you can catch them on a crankbait and a Carolina rig in the same areas, as long as the baitfish are still around. This month is usually one of the best months to be out on the water with the cooler temperatures and less recreational boats.”

Linesides: Guide Capt. William Sasser reports, “Water temperatures are beginning to slowly drop, but the fish bite is staying hot. The hybrids and stripers are lingering in 35 to 45 feet of water off mid to lower lake points. The majority of the action has come on downlines and is coming right around sunrise and lasting until mid morning. There is also a pretty strong afternoon bite around 5 and lasting until sunset. We are starting to see schooling activity, so be sure to keep a rod with a topwater plug close at all times.”
