Bartletts Ferry Fishing Report – April 2025

GON Staff | March 26, 2025

Bartletts Ferry: Level: 0.9 feet below 521. Temp: Upper 60s to low 70s. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Tournament angler Tyler Morgan, with Summerland Outdoors, won the March 22 Lazy Man tournament with 14-11, beating the second-place weight of 14-10. Bass are hard-core spawning in April. Fish the back halves of pockets in Halawakee Creek. Early mornings, throw a buzzbait and a frog in the shallows. When it’s bright enough to see, look for bass on beds or cruising. Both will hit a wacky-rigged Senko, but if the fish is locked on a bed, try a tilapia or tilapia magic Big Bite Baits Fighting Frog Texas rigged with a 1/4-oz. sinker. The glitter helps you see it, and natural colors seem to get bit better. Always watch for clouds of fry and cast a wacky-rigged Senko to catch males guarding them.
