South Florida Osceola From Roost, Fly Down… To Decoy Destruction

Ben Martin from the Hunt Regs App started the 2025 turkey season with a bang down in south Florida. Ben saw this bird asleep in the tree and was able to slip in quietly and get set up before sunrise. After nearly 75 gobbles on the limb, this gobbler flew down and immediately ran in to fight Ben’s homemade decoy.

Ben is a die-hard hunter and fisherman. He grew up mating on tarpon and marlin boats in south Florida and has spent all his free time chasing deer, turkeys, waterfowl, alligators and fish throughout the Southeast.  After graduating college, Ben founded the Hunt Regs App to better the hunting community through technology. As a first-generation hunter, Ben found navigating the complex rules and regulations of the various states he hunted to be a serious challenge. The Hunt Regs App was the solution — displaying geo-referenced regulations in a simple way everyone could easily understand.  In addition to growing his business, Ben is also working with several state agencies to provide them with a high-tech poaching reporting system that simplifies the process for users and significantly improves the game warden’s ability to apprehend poachers.
