Hunt Story
Kaitlynne has been hunting with her dad since age 7. They videoed the buck 2 years ago and decided to let it go and grow and then again last year in 2023. It was on Kaitlynne’s hit list for 2024, been hunting this buck on weekends for about a month now, had one encounter late one afternoon but couldn’t get a shot. Been hunting pretty hard over Christmas school break and was getting a little tired and frustrated because she couldn’t see this buck. It finally showed up on camera December 26 morning at her stand, her dad was pretty confident it would come out again in afternoon. They had been sitting for about an hour and half when he finally comes out walking up a dim road bed, seeing a doe, he began chasing her back and forth in a bottom to our right, couldn’t get a shot for like 20 minutes, then finally stepped out for a 100 yard broadside side shot, she dropped him, emotions ran high with lots of hugs and tears with dad, all those hours of sitting finally paid off and she had her biggest buck ever.
