Hunt Story
Hunted hard all week to harvest a buck through Thursday morning of the hunt. Tried a new spot Friday evening, didn’t see anything, but it looked like it would setup better for a morning spot. So I went back Saturday morning. I was set up in a blown over pine tree about 20 feet off the ground. It gave me enough height to see where I thought the deer would come from. It also set up for a good rut spot. I ended up dropping my phone out of the tree right at daylight, so I ended having to navigate my way back down then back up. Around 8:45 I could hear deer in the thicker brush below. Not long after a doe came out to my right. She hid in some thick brush. I heard some more deer below her. Then he stepped out about 50 yards underneath her. He eventually gave me about a hundred yard shot. He ran about twenty feet and piled up. The Lord has blessed me this season. He was the fourth buck this season for me and the third from public land this season. Could not have got him out without the help from my buddies Calloway and Easton.
