Hunt Story

We got just a few pictures not even a month ago and I told my dad that’s the one I want. He showed up once on camera just 50+ yards from where we was sitting but never came out. Weeks go by and me, and my dad are locked in on any shooter by now. We’re in the stand facing opposite ways i’m looking in the hardwoods, and he’s looking out in the food plot and clearcut. The last 30 minutes come around and it’s quiet as can be, all we’ve seen is some turkey and a doe. At 5:37 p.m. my dad is hitting my arm, “Get your gun get your gun that’s the one you want.” Turning around and getting my gun wasn’t the easiest in a small tower, bumping my dad's chair and trying to reach behind me and get my gun. All I could say was “daddy daddy daddy daddy” over and over again because he was staring at us the whole time. I was so scared he was going to run but I knew I didn’t have time to stop and wait for him to look away. So I finally got my gun up try to site in and my face mask was all bunched up, so I had to pull that down. I closed my eyes took a deep breath tightened my gun against my shoulder and slowly pulled the trigger. He dropped, nose dived and did a flip, all of it was insane. Me and my dad are going crazy in the stand. We get calmed down go back to camp, then head back out to track, 30 yards later there lays, what might be my biggest buck. Me and my dad are jumping up and down squeezing the death out of each other. My dad has taught me everything I know about hunting from the time I couldn’t walk. He is my best friend, I will never hunt alone or with anyone but my dad.
