Hunt Story

Andrew and Bo set out for the woods around 5:15 in the morning with hopes of just seeing deer. Knowing there was several little bucks and does using the area, we had high hopes but had no idea what we were in store for! Got settled into our buddy stand a little before 6 and waited for it to break daylight. After daylight broke we sat for 25-30 minutes before Bo decided he wanted me to do some rattling to “wake the deer up." I did a rattling sequence for a minute or two and after doing so and setting the antlers down, a minute and 45 seconds passed before I looked up and seen a really good buck headed our way. He came in around 50 yards out in front of us and made a big loop around to our left at 18 yards looking for where the rattling was coming from. I was able to give him the ol’ Meh and get him stopped, almost completely broadside/slightly quartering to us. Bo behind the crossbow had already clicked the safety off and had his crosshairs settled behind the bucks shoulder. He squeezed off the shot and his bolt hit true to his aim and we watched the buck run off about 75 yards before he tipped over and Bo had bagged his biggest buck ever! Best day of hunting that either one of us had ever had!! Bo had one of the greatest and emotional reactions a hunter ever could. The whole hunt and wholesome reaction will be on our YouTube channel GEORGIA PUBLIC PROJECT in the coming weeks if anyone wants to check it out. This hunt was the perfect example of why we do what we do as hunters!!
