It was a cold Sunday morning. The weather had finally started to cooperate for rut conditions. The morning started off slow. It wasn't until 10:15 that I finally started seeing some doe movement. Three does cam through slowly. The eventually left the area. about 30 minutes later another larger more mature doe came into the area. I could tell she was older and larger than the other three. She was also alone. It wasn't long that I could tell she was nervous and acting like she was being pushed. She started looking behind her and it wasn't long she left the area. Sure enough this buck showed up on her scent. It was a perfect ending to a great morning hunt. Good mature 8 point buck. This buck had given me the slip just one week before. I had hoped I hadn't missed my only chance at him. What a memory.
